If you tuned into the news yesterday (8 March) or looked on social media you would’ve seen thousands of posts about International Women’s Day, with many wealth firms taking the opportunity to highlight their female staff members and draw attention to their initiatives supporting gender equality for both clients and employees.
But a Tweet only goes so far and the data provided through the UK's compulsory gender pay gap reporting function does not paint an improving picture. Of the financial and insurance firms that have reported so far, the gender pay gap has risen to 23.1 percent from 22.2 percent two years ago.
