Julius Baer appoints chief operating officer

Bank Julius Baer & Co. has appointed Bernhard Hodler, member of the executive boards of Julius Baer Group and Bank Julius Baer, as  chief operating officer (COO).

Mr Hodler, who takes up the role on 1 April 2011, will be responsible for "providing the means to further align the business model of Bank Julius Baer with the changing private banking landscape," said the bank. He will also have to provide the framework and resources for the implementation of the bank’s growth strategy, as he is responsible for the global operations as well as for the control and mitigation of risks.
