Julius Baer faces renewed €335m claim from Lithuanian liquidator

Julius Baer is contesting a renewed claim of €335 million with five percent interest from the liquidator of a Lithuanian corporation.

The Swiss bank has repeatedly been confronted with a claim by this liquidator, which argues that around ten years ago the bank did not prevent two of its clients from embezzling assets of the Lithuanian corporation.

The corporation’s liquidator previously unsuccessfully sued Julius Baer for €306 million in Lithuania. The court of last instance rejected the lawsuit in October 2018, thus terminating the litigation against the bank in Lithuania.
