The announcement that James Anderson, the former manager of Scottish Mortgage Investment Trust, is to return to full time investment management attracted predictable headlines in the trade media.
Mr Anderson will work for Lingotto Investment Management, a new London-based investment management firm established by Exor NV, an Amsterdam-based and Euronext-listed holding company majority owned and controlled by the Italian Agnelli family, which founded Fiat in 1899.
