New York named wealthiest city in the world – research

New York is the wealthiest city in the world, with total wealth in the city amounting to $2.9 trillion.

According to research by New World Wealth, as at June 2021, New York was home to just over 370,000 HNWIs, as well as 805 centi-millionaires and 62 billionaires.

Home to the Silicon Valley, San Francisco Bay area came in second place, with $2.6 trillion.

This area has been moving up the list over the past few years and is expected to overtake New York before 2030.
