PIMFA joins call for financial harm to be included in Online Safety Bill

PIMFA has called for online scams to be included in the government’s upcoming Online Safety Bill.

The wealth management lobby group has joined Which?, UK Finance, the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) and the chair of the work and pensions select committee the Rt Hon Stephen Timms MP in calling for this.

Research released this week by the Money and Mental Health Institute found that 60 percent of people want to see an increase in online protection from financial harm.

PIMFA chief executive Liz Field said it is “vital” that people are protected from all forms of online exploitation.
