Santander snaps up HSBC’s ex-private banking head

Santander has snapped up HSBC’s former global private banking head as its new regional head of Europe.

António Simões takes up his new role at Santander from 1 September. It was announced in February that he would leave HSBC, during a restructure that means its standalone private bank is being rolled into the much larger wealth and personal banking business line.
