St James’s Place (SJP) has appointed a new head of its academy. Andy Payne moves across from another role, as head of transition in the business establishment team.

Mr Payne will be responsible for implementing the new and improved academy throughout 2021, SJP said.

Following an assessment of the training programme throughout 2020, it will now deliver enhanced training and development to a broader cross-section of the future financial advisers, unconstrained by geography or intake, the firm said.

The new approach will look more towards supporting people at all stages of their career and training.
