Spanish aristocrats feud over inheritance - lessons to learn?

Last month marked the development of a further chapter in an eight-year feud amongst one of Spain’s most esteemed aristocratic families over the distribution of inheritance left behind by the late Victoria Fernandez de Cordoba, the Duchess of Medinaceli.

Following her passing in 2012, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren have been engaged in an ongoing legal battle against their uncle, Ignacio Medina, the Duke of Segorbe. They claim he has refused to distribute their rightful share of inheritance, which he insists on administering through the family foundation, of which he is the president.
