St James's Place explores further acquisitions to boost discretionary asset business

St James’s Place says it is continuing to explore “bolt on” acquisitions to reinforce the growth of its discretionary asset management business.

At present this is based on Bristol-based Rowan Dartington which St James’s Place acquired in 2016.

Following its purchase St James’s has invested significantly in Rowan Dartington. During 2017, for example, it injected £12 million into the firm to assist the establishment of an Asian presence as well as expanding its geographical presence within the UK.
