Tilney Smith & Williamson has appointed a new group general counsel, following its merger.

Nicola Mitford-Slade, the former head of legal and compliance at Smith & Williamson, steps into the group role and also becomes company secretary for the combined group.

Ms Mitford-Slade, a qualified barrister, has more than 20 years’ experience working within legal and compliance across several financial services firms.
