UBP hires London private banker from JP Morgan

UBP has hired experienced private banker Jafar Hamid from JP Morgan.

Mr Hamid, who joins from seven years at JP Morgan where he was an executive director, will focus on growing UBP’s non-resident Indian (NRI) business, which it described as “a key segment”.

His new title will be ‘senior private banker and managing director’, based in London. Mr Hamid’s career spans nearly 30 years, holding senior wealth roles at firms including Credit Suisse, UBS, and Citi.

UBP managed CHF 134.4 billion group-wide at the end of June 2019.
