The UK sucks: Go global

Given the current volatility afflicting global financial markets it is probably far too early to make a definitive call on the optimum investment strategy to pursue.

Looking at the private investor indices produced by the Personal Investment Management and Financial Advice Association (PIMFA), a trade association, and MSCI, it is quite clear that a global approach to investing trumps a UK focused approach, especially for growth orientated investors.
