US regulator fines investment firm over ESG claims

US regulator - the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) – has charged BNY Mellon Investment Adviser for misstatements and omissions about ESG considerations in investment decisions for certain mutual funds it managed.

BNY Mellon Investment Adviser will pay a $1.5 million penalty.
