Waverton hosts charity cricket match in memory of former vice chair

News Team, 07/07/2023

Wealth manager Waverton has hosted a cricket match in memory of its former vice chair.

Luckily the rain held off for the David Gibbs Memorial Cricket Match held last week (28/06/2023), allowing team captain and portfolio manager Jamie Carter to lead his team to a 65 run victory.

Harry Fisher was named man of the match.

The teams enjoyed live music from the Forever Steel Band and refreshments from caterers Admirable Crichton.

Mr Gibbs, who was Waverton’s vice chair, passed away in December 2021.

He joined the firm in 2005 following a career at Salomon Brothers and Citigroup.

The firm said it appreciates the support in fundraising for Royal Papworth Charity, for which Waverton has raised over £10,000 from donations on the day, a Just Giving page and silent auction.
