WH Ireland has announced the intended appointment of a new non-executive director, as it continues its turnaround effort.
Philip Shelley, the former vice-chairman of Barclays Investment Bank, will join the firm subject to regulator approval. He will also serve on the audit, risk and remuneration committees.
Prior to his tenure at Barclays, Mr Shelley created, and today runs, advisory firm Arlington Capital Markets. Mr Shelley also previously ran the Goldman Sachs Corporate Broking and ECM team in the UK for five years, and before that was head of corporate broking at UBS, where he worked for 15 years.
