A collection of artworks can give exquisite pleasure to its owner, but every piece comes with its own complicated set of risks.

thewealthnet spoke to an expert in the field to try and scratch the surface of the dangers that accompany art.

Maria de Peverelli is partner and executive chairman at Stonehage Fleming Art Management, working with a client base that includes individuals, family offices, foundations, trusts and estates.

Risks are very wide, Ms de Peverelli stressed, and only some are very obvious, depending on the way a buyer or collector approaches creating a collection.
