First-time buyers hit highest number in decade despite house price growth

Despite rising house prices, the number of first-time buyers in the UK has increased by nearly 100 percent in the last decade, according to new analysis from life events platform, Stipendium.

The number hit a high of almost 410,000 first-time buyers in 2021.

The average price of a first-time buyer home has increased by £75,254 in the last decade, rising from £141,571 to £216,826. This is an increase of 53.2 percent.
