No-fault divorce law 'long overdue' and 'welcomed', says private client sector

UK Justice Secretary David Gauke has confirmed he will bring in legislation for no-fault divorces so couples can split faster, as soon as there’s parliamentary time to remove the need to allocate blame or wait years for divorce.

He stated: “Hostility and conflict between parents leave their mark on children and can damage their life chances. While we will always uphold the institution of marriage, it cannot be right that our outdated law creates or increases conflict between divorcing couples.
