A quick look at what’s been going on in Europe…

The UK government transposed the EU’s fifth anti-money laundering directive (5AMLD) ahead of the deadline.

Most of the provisions of the Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing (Amendment) Regulations 2019 come into force on 10 January, although those relating to the registration of all express trusts will be delayed until a more detailed technical consultation on implementation has been completed.
