Monday

Global volatility driven by Covid-19 has led to an increase in affluent entrepreneurs and international investors building geographically diversified domicile portfolios. They are doing this through residence and citizenship-by-investment schemes, as they look to overcome the limitations and risks of being restricted to a single residence.

Tuesday

Former eprivateclient Top 35 Under 35 Kerrie Le Tissier launched KLT Legal, a boutique Guernsey legal practice specialising in private wealth. The new firm provides a personal, client-focused service to fiduciaries, family offices and private clients (particularly HNWIs, family business owners and entrepreneurs).

Research by high-net-worth mortgage broker, Enness Global, revealed which British HNWs have the strongest property purchasing power based on their net worth in relation to the property markets of their hometowns.  


Wednesday

Charles Russell Speechlys expanded its Zurich offering with the appointment of Annika Fünfschilling. She joins as a senior associate in the law firm’s tax team. Ms Fünfschilling is an attorney-at-law and Swiss certified tax specialist. She is the first Swiss-qualified lawyer working from the Zurich office.

Offshore law firm Mourant appointed Gillian Kennedy-Smith as a partner in its Guernsey international trust & private client advisory practice. She joins the firm from Mills & Reeve in London where she was a principal associate.

Thursday 

Smith & Williamson - part of the Tilney Smith & Williamson group - appointed Majid Hussain as a partner in its private client tax team. Mr Hussain has experience in all areas of private client tax, with a specific focus on international families with complex overseas structures, such as trusts, including those from the Middle East. He was named an eprivateclient Top 35 Under 35 in 2017.

The Knox group of companies, which offers wealth planning, investment sourcing and fiduciary services, launched Knox House Trust UK (KHT UK). This move expands its reach into the UK trust and corporate services market. Its services include company and trust formation, provision of corporate directors and trustees, compliance services and specialist private office services.

Friday

To showcase the achievements of those listed this year and to get to know them a bit better, eprivateclient has began publishing a new Q&A series with our 2021 50 Most Influentials. Today we heard from David Kilshaw, a partner at Rawlinson & Hunter.

Law firm Cripps Pemberton Greenish appointed Zainab Dakhil as a partner in its residential property team. She will be based in the firm’s London office. Ms Dakhil has over 15 years’ experience acting for affluent individuals on all aspects of high value residential property transactions predominantly in Prime Central London.
