Benjamin de Rothschild, chairman of the holding company for private bank Edmond de Rothschild (EdR), has died aged 57.

EdR said in a press statement that Mr de Rothschild died from a heart attack at home in Pregny, Geneva on Friday (15 January).

Mr de Rothschild was the son of Edmond and Nadine de Rothschild and had headed the business his father founded since 1997 – “he developed it in an exceptional way during all these years”, EdR’s press statement said.
