New LPA registrations fall by a third during pandemic

As Covid-19 disruption led to delays in the application process for Lasting Powers of Attorneys (LPAs), there was a significant drop in the number registered in the past year.

A Freedom of Information request submitted by Quilter to the Ministry of Justice, revealed there was a 30 percent drop in the number of LPAs registered between April 2020 and February 2021, compared to the same period the previous year.
