US inflation drops to 7.7 percent

US inflation came in at 7.7 percent in October, lower than the forecasted 7.9 percent.

Having hit 9.1 percent in June, the highest rate in nearly 41 years, and dropping to 8.2 percent last month, October's continued decrease comes as “welcome news for the markets”, Rupert Thompson, chief economist at Kingswood, said.
