US inflation hit 9.1 percent in June, the highest rate in nearly 41 years.
On a monthly basis, CPI rose 1.3 percent, compared to 1.0 percent in May.
The less volatile core CPI inflation measure which excludes food and energy, rose by 5.9 percent year-on-year, compared with 6.0 percent in May. On a monthly basis, core CPI rose 0.7 percent, compared with 0.6 percent in May.
