Aussie bank headed by ex-RBS chief doubles down on wealthy clients with hiring spree

The Australian bank now headed by the former Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) boss is embarking on a hiring spree as it looks to redouble its focus on rich clients.

National Australia Bank (NAB) announced yesterday that it would be recruiting 50 high net worth client advisers and bankers under its new wealth division, NAB Private.

NAB Private will combine and build on the bank’s existing wealth operation, which is centred around the 180-year old wealth manager and investment advisory business JBWere, which NAB bought in 2009.

NAB Private will be led by JBWere chief executive Justin Greiner, who said he was looking to recruit bankers who had “deep understanding of private wealth and a strong sense of ‘client first’”.
