The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) plans to ban the former chief operating officer of Barclays Wealth and Investment, Andrew Tinney, following an investigation into allegations that he destroyed a report outlining misconduct at the firm.
The regulator hopes to publicly censure and ban Mr Tinney from “carrying out any senior management or Significant Influence Functions in any regulated financial service provider” for offences committed in 2013, it announced in a Decision Notice. Mr Tinney, however, strongly disputes the decision and has referred the matter to the Upper Tribunal, where a final judgement will be made.<...
