RBS’s chief executive Ross McEwan has been appointed as chief executive of National Australia Bank, reigniting speculation that private banking head Alison Rose could succeed him.
He replaces Andrew Thorburn who resigned, alongside chairman Ken Henry, in March following a critical report from the banking royal commission.
