Inflation soars as recession fears grow

UK inflation has hit 9.4 percent in June, prompting fears that the peak may be higher than earlier predictions.

This is an increase from 9.1 percent in May.

Unlike the UK’s heatwave which appears to be abating, there is little sign of inflation cooling off.

Ofgem’s upcoming 45 percent price cap increase could help drive inflation to highs of 10-11 percent as summer turns to autumn.
